Proof of Vehicle Insurance

Did you receive an important document letter? 

Please Make Sure We Have Proof of Your Vehicle Insurance

We need your help! We are requesting your assistance in updating our insurance records for the vehicle noted in your letter. We sent a letter alerting you that we do not have a current insurance policy on file for your vehicle.

It is possible that evidence of coverage was provided sometime in the past, if so, please accept our apologies for the additional request. 

If you already have insurance, please provide us with written proof as soon as possible. Please request from your insurance agent the Declarations page, ensuring Sentinel Federal Credit Union is listed as the Loss Payee.  You may wish to supply an insurance card instead. Please be aware that if the Declarations page or insurance card do not have all the necessary information, and additional request letter may be sent. 

Per the requirements of your loan agreement the following coverage is required throughout the loan term:

  • Comprehensive Coverage with a maximum deductible of $1,000.
  • Collision Coverage with a maximum deductible of $1,000.
  • Sentinel Federal Credit Union listed as the Loss Payee on your policy.

Maintaining this coverage helps protect both you and the collateral securing your loan.

If you do not have coverage, please arrange to obtain insurance on the vehicle financed with us. Have your agent provide proof of insurance using one of the contact methods above. Please remember to have them list Sentinel Federal Credit Union as Loss Payee.

Please note that failure to provide proof of insurance may result in Sentinel FCU purchasing insurance for the vehicle on your behalf, at your expense. However, it is important to understand that our insurance is likely to be more expensive and provide less coverage since it it is intended to protect the loan on the vehicle rather than the vehicle itself.
