Starting February 1, 2026, Sentinel Federal Credit Union will no longer offer pennies (one U.S. cent coins) for individual member purchase.
This change is due to fewer one-cent coins being minted and distributed nationwide. Like many financial institutions across the country, we are experiencing ongoing challenges in maintaining a reliable supply.
What’s changing
- Beginning February 1, 2026, pennies will no longer be available for individual members to purchase.
- During this transition, we will continue to provide pennies to business members on a limited basis.
- Business availability will continue only while our remaining supply lasts.
What’s not changing
- All other coin denominations remain available as usual.
- We will continue to accept coin deposits.
- Our commitment to serving both individual and business members remains the same.
We appreciate your understanding as we navigate these supply challenges. If you have questions our team is always happy to help.
Thank you for being a valued Sentinel member.
