Pat’s Passion
Pat has been helping members achieve their dream of homeownership for 34 years. With a passion for making the mortgage process smooth and stress-free, he prides himself on taking the time to outline the right loan for each member’s needs, carefully explaining the transaction process and each step along the way.

“I love seeing the excitement when someone realizes their dream home is within reach,” Pat says. “Helping members through the mortgage journey is incredibly rewarding.”

About Pat
Originally from Elgin, Illinois, Pat moved to the area with his family after working in banking in Chicago. He attended Chadron State College and always felt a connection to the Black Hills, identifying it early on as a place he hoped to live.

Interestingly, Pat got into mortgage lending by accident. When job searching for his move to the area, a mortgage lending position happened to be available. Though there was a learning curve with all the regulations, Pat found this new direction incredibly gratifying.

When he’s not working with members, you can find Pat exploring the Hills — he loves being outdoors.

Pat’s Mortgage Tips
Pat says the biggest misconception people have about mortgages is how difficult they think the process is. “People don’t realize they are in the driver’s seat,” he explains. “If they listen to the lender and follow the steps, it’s not that hard to achieve.”

His top advice for preparing to buy a home? Visit with your lender early, get an understanding of what is expected of you. Get a checklist of needed documents, and you’ll be much more prepared when the time comes. It makes the process go so much more smoothly.
