Sentinel Federal Credit Union has been guarding and protecting the financial well being of our members since 1955. Originally named Ellsworth Air Force Base Federal Credit Union, we served the U.S. Air Force military personnel assigned or attached to Ellsworth AFB, S.D., and select employee groups. In the mid-1980s we opened our community charter to non-military members. In 1994 we changed our name to Sentinel Federal Credit Union and we expanded the communities we served to nine South Dakota counties.
On Aug. 1, 2015, Rapid City Telco Federal Credit Union merged with Sentinel Federal Credit Union. By combining forces, our members benefitted from the greater financial strength this partnership achieved. We grew to $107 million in assets with over 11,000 members, serving nine South Dakota counties with seven convenient locations.
Over the years, we’ve been asked a lot of questions, like why is our Credit Union any different than those big city financials? After all, most financial institutions offer the same products and services. The difference is our people and our service. We give you the one-on-one, first name, friendly service that you deserve.
Our mission is to maintain integrity and protect the financial future of our member owners.
